2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series – Vancouver Canucks dominate against the San Jose Sharks to win 6-1

The last game of Friday saw the Vancouver Canucks play host to the San Jose Sharks. This was the 333rd game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series that was played in front of 19,000 fans at the Rogers Arena. The San Jose Sharks played their
21st game while the Vancouver Canucks played the 22nd game of the campaign.
Both teams made a decent start to the match as they constructed attacks and came across scoring opportunities successively. The consistency in the attacks made by the Vancouver Canucks was greater and as a result they scored in the 10th minute
to take the lead.
The goal was scored by Jeff Tambellini through a flick shot. After taking the lead the home side continued to attack. Their hunt for another goal was unsuccessful in fact the home lost the lead. The fans that were once screaming were silenced when the San
Jose Sharks scored in the 16th minute of the match to level the scores. The goal was scored by Dany Heatley through a superb strike that was perfectly placed in the right corner.
The period ended with the scores level as the Vancouver Canucks made 15 goal attempts and the San Jose Sharks made 8 goal attempts.
The 2nd period of the match saw the Vancouver Canucks come out determined to regain the lead. The home side succeeded in doing so as they scored in the 3rd minute to take the lead. The goal was scored by Raffi Torres through a powerful
strike.
The Vancouver Canucks continued to attack and they scored in the 5th minute once again to double the lead. The goal was scored by Mikael Samuelsson through a brilliant flick shot.
The period saw the San Jose Sharks making numerous goal attempts but they failed to convert any of their chances into goals as the period ended with the score 3-1 in favour of the Vancouver Canucks.
In the final period, after the San Jose Sharks made a good start to the match firing a few shots on goal, it was the Vancouver Canucks who totally dominated the rest of the period.
The Vancouver Canucks scored in the 7th minute to take the score to 4-1. The goal was scored by Mikael Samuelsson who bagged his second goal of the night. The Vancouver Canucks pressed on is search of another goal and successfully scored in the
15th minute. The goal was scored by Alexandre Burrows from a powerful strike.
The Vancouver Canucks scored the final goal of the period to seal the match. The goal was scored by Keith Ballard in the 17th minute of the period. The period and the match didn’t see any further goals as the Vancouver Canucks won the match 6-1.
During the course of the match saw the Vancouver Canucks made 11 goal attempts while the San Jose Sharks made 9 goal attempts.
