2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series – Vancouver Canucks win 7-2 against the Calgary Flames
The 363rd game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series saw the Calgary Flames host the Vancouver Canucks. The match was played at the Scotiabank Saddledome in front of 19,000 fans. The match took place this Wednesday with the Vancouver Canucks
playing the 23rd game of the campaign while the Calgary Flames played the 25th game of the season thus far.
The Vancouver Canucks exploded right from the start of the match and took the lead with a goal in the 2nd minute of the period. The goal was scored by Mason Raymond from a wonderful flick shot.
The Vancouver Canucks managed to come up with goal attempts regularly and scored once again in the 9th minute to double the lead. The goal was scored by Jeff Tambellini through a well placed flick shot.
The Calgary Flames also started to come up with attacks thanks to the superb passing they displayed. The home team managed to score in the 11th minute to cut the lead to 1 goal. The goal was scored by Tim Jackman from a decent strike.
Both teams had a few more chances but they failed to capitalize as the period ended with Vancouver Canucks leading 2-1. During the course of the period the Vancouver Canucks made 16 goal attempts while the Calgary Flames made 9 goal attempts.
The 2nd period of the match saw the Canucks start on a high note once again, scoring in the 4th minute to take the score to 3-1. The goal was scored by Daniel Sedin from a decent flick shot.
The Calgary Flames came up with attacks too and in doing so they came across scoring opportunities regularly. The home team, much to the delight of the crowd, scored once again in the 7th minute to keep in the score in line with the Canucks.
The period didn’t see any further goals and ended with the Vancouver Canucks leading 3-2. During the course of the 20 minutes of play, the Flames made 5 goal attempts while the Vancouver Canucks made 8 goal attempts.
The final period was completely dominated by the Vancouver Canucks. The away side scored 4 times during the course of the period and the defence stopped the home side from scoring any goals.
The first goal was scored in the 2nd minute by Mason Raymond from a spectacular backhand shot. The pressure was continuously piled by the Canucks. This resulted in the Canucks scoring once again in the 7th minute. The goal was scored
by Alexandre Burrows.
16th minute of the final period saw Mason Raymond complete his hat-trick through a brilliant flick shot. Though the score was 6-2, the Canucks still pressed on. The Canucks sealed the win with the final goal in the 18th minute. The
goal was scored by Dan Hamhuis with a powerful strike.
The Vancouver won the match 7-2 in the end by absolutely thrashing the Minnesota Wild.
