2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series – weekend round up (Part 5)
Dallas Stars 4, Buffalo Sabres 0 
30th October 2010 saw the Dallas Stars play host to the Buffalo Sabres. The game started off with 15,000 fans in the stands at the American Airlines Arena. This was the 151st game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series, as the Dallas
Stars played the 10th and the Buffalo Sabres played the 12th game of the campaign thus far.
The 1st period saw the Buffalo Sabres start strongly but they couldn’t score any goals. During the course of period, the away team came across numerous scoring opportunities not being able to net the puck. With the passage of time the home team,
Dallas Stars grew in confidence and scored in the 8th minute to take the lead. The goal was scored by James Neal from a flick shot 39 feet. The home team continued to press being in the lead but they couldn’t come up with any further goals. The
period came to end with the Dallas Stars leading 1-0. During the period, the Dallas Stars made 13 goal attempts and the Buffalo Sabres made 7 goal attempts.
The 2nd period saw the home team continue their dominance for a few minutes. After the first few minutes, the away team started to attack the goal too and almost scored in the 10th minute to level the score by the pole came in the way.

in the 12th minute. This time the goal came from Trevor Daley from another flick shot from 28 feet. The period and the match came to an end with the Dallas Stars winning the match 4-0.
Colorado Avalanche win 5-1 against the Columbus Blue Jackets

The 152nd game of the season saw the Columbus Blue Jackets play the Colorado Avalanche. The game took place at the Pepsi Centre, home of the Colorado Avalanche this past Saturday in front of 13,000 fans.
The 1st period saw the home team come up with brilliant pieces of play along with a very tight defence. The home scored in the 5th minute to break the deadlock. The goal was scored by David Jones from a simple strike from 24 feet. The
period didn’t see any further goals as both teams went into the break with the home team leading 1-0. During the period, the Colorado Avalanche made 7 goal attempts and the Columbus Blue Jackets managed 4 goal attempts.
The 2nd period saw the determined Colorado Avalanche score once again in the very first minute to double the lead. The goal was scored by Chris Stewart from feet 15 feet. The period continued with the home team coming up with regular goal attempts.
They were rewarded for the hard work with a goal in the 10th minute. The goal was scored by Liffiton from 48 feet through a decent strike. The Colorado Avalanche scored once again to establish a healthy lead. The goal was scored in the 11th
minute by Paul Stastny from a backhand shot from 24 feet. The period came to an end with the Colorado Avalanche leading 4-0.
The 3rd period saw both teams score once during the course of the period. The first goal came in favour of the Colorado Avalanche in the 7th minute through a spectacular shot from 14 feet by Cody Mcleod. The 2nd goal of the
period came in favour of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 9th minute. The goal was scored by Derick Brassard from a flick shot from 23 feet. The period and the game came to end with the Colorado Avalanche winning 5-1.
