Vancouver Canucks win 5-3 against the Toronto Maple Leafs
The 235th game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series was played between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Vancouver Canucks. Both the teams played the 16th game of the regular season in front of 20,000 fans at the Air Canada Centre,
home of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Toronto Maple Leafs were the first to score in the match as they took the lead with a goal in the 5th minute. The goal was scored by Fredrik Sjostrom through a simple tip in shot. The home team continued to attack, which resulted in another
goal in the 8th minute. This time the goal was scored by Phil Kessel through a flick shot during power play.
The Vancouver Canucks were finally able to respond to this with strong attacks too. They started to come up with dangerous plays, which ultimately saw the away team score in the 10th minute. The goal was scored by Daniel Sedin during power play
through a decent strike. Both the teams had numerous chances to score more goals but they were unable to capitalize.
However, the Vancouver Canucks scored in the 18th minute to level the score. The goal was scored by Ryan Kesler from a powerful strike as both teams went into the break with the scores level.
The 2nd period saw the Vancouver Canucks score within the 1st minute after restart to take the lead. The goal was scored by Ryan Kesler’s powerful strike. The Toronto Maple Leafs were able to find a way back into the match with a goal
in the 12th minute. The goal was scored by Mikhail Grabovski that took the score to 3-3.
The period ended with the scores level and the Canucks making 17 goal attempts while the Toronto Maple Leafs made 9 goal attempts.
The final period saw the Vancouver Canucks score twice to win the match 5-3. The first goal was scored in the 14th minute by Mason Raymond’s decent strike while the 2nd came in the 20th minute via Dan Hamhuis’s flick shot.

Montreal Canadiens win 7-2 against the Carolina Hurricanes
The 236th match of the regular season was played between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Montreal Canadiens.
The match saw its first goal scored by the Montreal Canadiens in the 12th minute by Tomas Plekanec through a decent backhand shot. The home side kept the pressure on the opposing team, which resulted in the home team scoring once again in the
19th minute through Michael Cammalleri’s simple flick shot.

The 2nd period saw the Carolina Hurricanes score in the 9th and the 11th minute to level the scores. The first goal was scored by Anton Babchuk while the 2nd was scored by Tom Kostopoulos through a flick shot.
However, the home team responded in spectacular fashion with 3 goals in the last 5 minutes of the period. The home team scored firstly in the 15th minute through Brain Gionta’s flick shot. The 2nd goal was scored by Maxim Lapierre’s
decent strike that took the score to 4-2.
The final goal of the period was scored in the 19th minute by Benoit Pouliot during power play to send the teams into the break with the Montreal Canadiens leading 5-2. The Montreal Canadiens made 16 goal attempts while the Carolina Hurricanes
made 7 goal attempts during the period.
The final period of the match saw the Montreal Canadiens score twice to seal the win 7-2. Though the goals came in late but they added to the dominating performance that the Montreal Canadiens displayed.
The first goal of the period came in the 18th minute by Andrei Kostitsyn through a well placed shot. The 2nd and final goal of the period came in the 19th minute. The goal was scored by Mathieu Darche’s goal as the home team
won the match 7-2.
