2010 Fifa World Cup final: Netherlands v Spain full time report

Netherlands 0 Spain 0

The World Cup final has gone into extra time after the Netherlands and Spain failed to produce a goal in 90 minutes.

In a match of nine yellow cards - including one for Nigel de Jong for a chest high stamp on Xabi Alonso - the Netherlands' Arjen Robben missed the best opportunity when he was denied by Iker Casillas when one-on-one.

Sergio Ramos has gone close for Spain with two headers, while David Villa saw his goalbound effort blocked by John Heitinga.

Robben was denied when clean through in the second half, and a somewhat disappointing final will now head into an extra 30 minutes.

More to follow.
