2010 Formula 1 championship to be decided at the grand finale in Abu Dhabi – a race for “the precious”
The 2010 Formula 1 championship has been a spectacle in its own way with dramatic races followed by the most unpredictable conditions the sport has ever faced since years. With just 1 race remaining, the grand finale will take place in
Abu Dhabi at the Yas Marina Bay Circuit and it seems that the championship has finally reached Mount Doom deep within the depths of Mordor.
With all 4 competitors acting similarly as Gollum from Lord of the Rings, the four drivers are willing to fight against anything or anyone that stands in their way. Currently, Fernando Alonso is the most comfortable driver out of the top
4 as he is leading the pack by 246 points while the two Red Bull drivers Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel are currently in 2nd and 3rd places with 238 and 231 points respectively followed by Lewis Hamilton in
4th place with 222 points.
The 2010 Formula 1 title is one of the most prestigious titles in the history of Formula 1 since the sport introduced a set of new rules and regulations and since it is the 2010 championship, the results will be more significant as compared
to the rest of the seasons.
As Fernando Alonso is leading the pack, he is currently holding the ring but it seems that he does not want to destroy it so easily. With Mark Webber right on his tail, winning the fight on top of Mount Doom is not going to be as easy
as it seems.
Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton are the most violent of characters in this predicament since they have been acting like suicide bombers. If they go down, they take someone with them. However, Sebastian Vettel is in a more comfortable
position as compared to Lewis since the German is just 15 points short of the Spaniard. Sebastian Vettel can only win the championship if he wins the race, and Fernando Alonso finishes in 5th place or lower.
After so much hard work and frustration, the three drivers that lose the title at the grand finale are definitely going to be furious. Jenson Button was ruled out of the championship after the Korean Grand Prix where it seemed that the
British driver wasn’t even trying to compete against his rivals. Jenson finished a pointless race and therefore, fell way behind the top four and eventually had to withdraw from this year’s world championship race.
One can say that Ferrari and McLaren might have more options for the final race as related to Red Bull since both of the teams have a single driver each competing for the world title. Ferrari and McLaren must be expecting and hoping that
both of the Red Bull drivers take out each other while racing for the title against each other in order to enable Ferrari or McLaren pick up the pieces and take the glory with ease.
Since the top 4 drivers are greedily hunting for this year’s title, it wouldn’t be a surprise if one of the top 4 strikes against the 2010 champion after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It is a natural reaction and when a driver and team put
so much work and effort into a single season, frustration and emotion are bound to burst sooner or later.
With just a maximum of 25 points left in the 2010 season, it would be interesting to see who wins the fight for “the precious” award that is the 2010 Formula 1 world championship at the Grand finale in Abu Dhabi this weekend.
