2010 Open Sud de France: Tuesday’s Preview
An action-packed today’s schedule of 2010 Open Sud de France will highlight a total of six single first round clashes on the centre court.
In the opening match, Romain Jouan, a qualifier from France will take on Taylor Dent from America on the first occasion in his career.
The twenty five year old Romain, who turned professional back in 2007, is currently ranked number two hundred and seventy four in the world by the Association of tennis professionals. He had achieved his career high ranking of world number 265 back in 2009.
The France native qualified for the ATP championship on the first occasion in Metz back in 2008 after getting the better of Fabio Fognini, Prakash Amritraj and Tobias Kamke. Ranked number 440 at that time, the right hander had overpowered Agustin Calleri
in a three setter opener before losing to the fourth seed, Paul Henri Mathieu in two sets in the next round.
Last season, Romain’s ranking did not even allow him to take part in the qualifying rounds and it appeared as if he will not play in Roland Garros but when the wild card entrant, John Isner of America pulled out of the event, Jouan replaced him at the last
moment. The Frenchman played his opening round match against Andy Roddick and lost it in three sets with a score line of 6–2, 6–4, and 6–2.
World number ninety two Dent on the other hand, has so far won a total of four titles in his career. He achieved his career high ranking of number twenty one back in 2005. The professional tennis player from America enters with a match record of 11-18 on
the season. The Florida resident, who had turned professional back in 1998, has so far reached the quarter final round in Atlanta as his best performance of this year.
In the day's second clash, Slovakia's Lukas Lacko will meet Adrian Mannarino, a qualifier from France. The twenty two year old Lukas, who turned professional back in 2004, is currently ranked number seventy five in the world. The right hander enters with
a match record of 19-21 on the season. He has so far reached the quarter finals at Chennai, Zagreb, Memphis, Halle and Atlanta.
The twenty two year old Mannarino on the other hand, enters with a match record of 1-3 on the season. The French tennis ace is still looking for his first career title on the tour. The left hander, who turned professional back in 2006, is currently ranked
number 108 in the world. Both of them faced each other two years ago in the round two of Besancon Challenger competition where Mannarino triumphed in three sets in the end.

On Tuesday, world number nineteen, John Isner from United States of America will also face the eighth seed, David Nalbandian, a wild card entrant from Argentina who is making his competition debut.
The twenty five year old Isner won the Auckland title earlier this season after getting the better of Clement in the title battle. The Florida resident also made his way into the final of Memphis, Belgrade as well as Atlanta along with a semi final appearance
at the China Open in Beijing last month. He enters with a match record of 35-21 on the year.
The right handed David on the other hand, reached the quarter final in Buenos Aires, ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Monte Carlo and ATP World Tour Masters 1000 in Toronto this season. The Argentinean won the title in Washington after beating Marcos Baghdatis
in straight sets.
