2010 Ryder Cup: Rain delays second day practice session

The second day practice session for 2010 Ryder Cup was delayed due to heavy rain fall overnight as well as this morning.
The scheduled time for practice today was 8.45am but both sides decided to delay it for a while until weather conditions improved. Later, the American side came out of the club house at around 10.30am and resumed their practice.
On the other side, the Europeans headed by Colin Montgomerie still remained indoors and decided to wait further for the rain to stop completely and also for the clouds to disappear but it has now been forecasted that the rain may continue till late in the
evening.
Yesterday’s practice session went pretty well with the Americans teeing off from the front nine while Europeans from the back nine. The American side came out in three groups:
First Group- Tiger, Mahan, Stricker and Zach
Second Group- Kucher, Cink, Overton and Furyk
Third Group- Mickelson, Fowler, Johnson and Watson
However, the Americans came out in the following sequence today:
-Dustin Johnson, Mickelson, Overton, Watson
-Stricker, Woods, Fowler, Furyk
-Cink, Kuchar, Zach Johnson, Mahan
This is the first time that Fowler has been paired up with Tiger and media reports suggest that both of them are going well so far. Meanwhile, the final pairing has also been disclosed to the team but media and Europeans will see the final list on Friday.
It seems that Corey Pavin wants to keep it as a surprise for his European counterpart, so that a counter strategy cannot be formulated soon. Although, Colin already has a fair idea of the possible pairings but even then he is waiting for the Friday to arrive.
Moreover, against all expectations Tiger once again sparked fire today at 9.05am when he came out for teeing. The world number one managed his strokes well and walked on the course from one pin to the other at the back nine. He made a few pin shots from
12 feet and earned the appreciation of his compatriots, especially Stewart Cink.
For the Europeans, the second day’s practice session hasn’t yet started but Americans have already reached the half way. This is a sign of their dedication and hard work in order to take the 2010 Ryder Cup trophy.
