2010 Shanghai Rolex Masters, the Bryans breeze into semi final
The American number one tennis duo of Mike Bryan and Bob Bryan are just two clashes away from grabbing their fifth straight ATP World Tour Masters 1000 crown after they made their way into the semi final round of the 2010 Shanghai Rolex Masters doubles men’s
competition on Friday.
The top seed twins lost eight points on serve and prevented the only break point they faced to brush aside the seventh seed pair of Michal Mertinak and Frantisek Cermak in two sets on Friday. The final match score was 6-3, 6-2.The clash concluded in a time
period of fifty minutes in China.
Mike Bryan and Bob Byran as a result of this victory have improved their match record to 59-9 on the season after stretching their winning streak to twenty clashes. The duo captured their ninth major title in the year’s final Grand Slam, the United States
Open in New York earlier this season after getting the better of Indian and Pakistan pair of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam ul Haq Qureshi in the title battle. The final match score was 7–6(5), 7–6(4). As a result of their victory, they jumped to the number one position
in the ATP doubles list.
The winners of sixty-six ATP tour crowns so far in their career are coming off their appearance in the 2010 China Open men’s doubles competition in Beijing. It was their first championship since winning the Grand Slam title in Flushing Meadows and they successfully
extended their winning streak to 18-0 with a two setter final victory over Marcin Matkowski and Mariusz Fyrstenberg. The final match score was 6–1, 7–6(5).
Another interesting fact about this victory is that the world number one doubles duo of Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan captured their tenth career title on 10th October, 2010. After this successful trophy defense, both of them are now playing at the
Shanghai Rolex Masters in China.
They have so far managed to continue their excellent form in China as they made their way into the semi finals at the Shanghai Open on Friday. The duo enjoys a perfect record of 10-0 in the tour level title battles, which also includes trophies at the season’s
opening Grand Slam, the Australian Open, where they dispatched off Nestor and Zimonjic in straight sets as well at Flushing Meadows in New York.
