Redirected from http://www.senore.com/2010-Shanghai-Rolex-Masters-1000-First-Round-Qualifiers-a33468:

Seeded no. 4 at the tournament, Britain's Andy Murray received a bye in the first round of the 2010 Shanghai Rolex Masters 1000. Murray will be opposed by China's Yan Bai in the second round of his draw.
Wild card entrant Bai defeated the Czech Republic's Radek Štěpánek in a brief two set match, to make it through to the second round. Radek was beaten 6-3 in the first set and 6-4 in the set to follow.
Frenchman Jeremy Chardy eliminated Cyprus' Marcos Baghdatis in the first round to face Ukraine's Alexandr Dolgopolov in the second round of the championship. Baghdatis was defeated 7-6 in the first set and 6-1 in the deciding second
set.
The unseeded Dolgopolov got rid of Spain's Nicolas Almagro in the first round of his draw. After taking the first set 6-2, Almagro was beaten upon losing the second set 7-5 and the third set 7-6.
Spain's Feliciano Lopez faced defeat at the hands of Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to be sent home based upon his first round loss. Tsonga beat Lopez 7-6 in the first set and 6-3 in the second set to advance at the tournament. Jo-Wilfried
will either be opposed by America's Sam Querrey or Germany's Michael Berrer in the second round of his draw.

Upon being seeded no. 8 at the tournament, Russia's Mikhail Youzhny will either be faced by Germany's Florian Mayer or South Africa's Kevin Anderson in the second round. Additionally, seeded no. 5, Sweden's Robin Soderling will be opposed by Serbia's Janko
Tipsarevic in the second round match of his draw.
Tipsarevic eliminated Kazakhstan's Andrey Golubev, thrashing him 6-3 and 6-4 in the first round match played between the two. Spain's David Ferrer got rid of Frenchman Michael Llodra in his first round match, beating him 7-6 in
the first set and 6-1 in the deciding second set.
Ferrer will either be faced by Turkey's Marsel İlhan or Brazil's Thomaz Bellucci in the second round of the tournament. Seeded no. 3, Switzerland's Roger Federer will be opposed by America's John Isner in the second round. Isner
defeated Poland's Łukasz Kubot in an evenly contested three-set tussle to make it through. Kubot took the first set 6-4.

However, Isner managed to level himself with the Polish man, taking the second set 7-6. After going nip and tuck in the third set, it was the American that came out victorious, taking the set 7-6 based upon a tie-break win.
Furthermore, the qualifying players will be opposed by the top seeds from here on in. Hopefully, the following round will be a memorable, action-packed one.
