Here is the final instalment highlighting the top ten matches on the WTA tour in 2010.
3. Justine Henin thrashed out Elena Dementieva; Australian Open second round
The Belgian tennis ace Justine Henin started the match against her Russian foe under great pressure; however did well to respond Elena’s close to line forehand winners with the help of her blistering back hand. She won the opening set after Elena faltered
during the eleventh game to wrap up at 7-5.
The following set saw Elena lose her serve once again which provided her opponent a chance to serve for the battle at 6-5. However, an immediate break forced the set into a decisive tie-break which the Belgian triumphed in a tight match up at 8-6.
In spite of the fact that the battle concluded in two sets the high quality tennis display by both the contenders stretched it to a time period of two hours and fifty minutes.
After emerging victorious, the professional tennis player from Belgium, Justine Henin, expressed her feelings by saying, "It was a great match. It was very emotional for me on the court at the end because there was so much intensity. To play this kind of
match in the second round, for me, after two years off in a Grand Slam, it is just the kind of situation that I needed. The crowd gave me so much. So respectful at the end. It was a special night tonight. That is why I probably came back on the tour, was to
live this kind of matches.  It is great feeling. It is magical to win this kind of match in this kind of atmosphere."
2. Kim Clijsters toppled Justine Henin; Brisbane International final

The tennis fans all around the world experienced an exciting exhibit of tennis when two tennis greats Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters after coming out of retirement met in the final of the Brisbane International.
It was the pair’s twenty third career meeting on the tour. The Belgian tennis ace, Kim Clijsters, started the match well and sealed the opening set at 6-3. The right hander; however missed match points in the second set on two occasions and thus provided
Henin a chance to come back into the match. Henin took no time to gain advantage of the situation and thus levelled the score by winning the set in the end.
In the final set, Henin maintained her dominance by taking a lead of 3-0. Kim, afterwards, won two straight match points to take things into the tie break and eventually won the match with a final score line of 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(6). The tussle concluded in a
time period of two hours and twenty four minutes.
1. Samantha Stosur bundled out Serena Williams; French Open quarterfinal

This match has been placed at number one position in our list as it came as a surprise package for everyone when Samantha Stosur proved the predictors wrong by overpowering the then world number one Serena Williams in the final eight round at Roland Garros.
Stosur, the Australian, started the match confidently and took seventeen points in a row to break her opponent’s serve on two occasions before clinching the set at 6-2. The following set saw Samantha race to a strong lead of 5-3 on serve, however tentative
errors cost the right hander not only the game but also the set as one of the finest tennis ace, Serena Williams from the United States of America got hold of the Australian by seven points to two.
After levelling the scores by one set each, Williams started the third set by taking a lead of 5-4. Stosur, however, did not let the American to continue her dominance for long as she made no mistakes and thus forced the battle to 5-5 and then 6-6. As a
result of two double faults from Serena, Stosur blasted a couple of winners to seal a three-setter win in the end. The final match score was 6-2, 6-7(2), 8-6.
It was a huge confidence booster for Stosur who later on ended runner-up at Roland Garros. She finished the season by taking part in the elite eight women field in Doha for the first time in her career.
