2010 World Cup: Wayne Rooney ready to Roar ,Capello to remove English ‘psychological issues’

Wayne Rooney, the smug, arrogant, notorious but brilliant English striker is unwavering when he said he had the capability to marvel everyone by repeating and outperforming all achievements made by previous stars of England. He also expressed that neither he nor his team had any fear against playing any team in the world.

He stated that the Three Lions had no fear and were ready to pounce on any target that threatened them. He admitted that history was a cruel teacher and that in time mistakes can be learnt and that was the case with the English team. He said that in the upcoming match against Algeria, the team will rejuvenate in its best form.

The star striker from Manchester United stated that he is in total discrepancy with the German fable Franz Beckenbauer’s and his statements about the English game being messed up, becoming cruder with just a kick and a rush.

While talking to media Rooney said, “It's his (Beckenbauer's) opinion and he's entitled to that. We don't listen to what he has to say. We don't play kick and run, so we're not taking notice of his comments”. On the German game play he stated, “Germany played really well against Australia, but that's about it. There have not been any stand out teams that I've thought: 'I wouldn't like to meet them”.

Rooney claimed that he was disappointed by his performance in the last World Cup in Germany (2006) where he was sent off. England lost in the match against Portugal on penalty to shoot outs to maintain their World Cup curse. Rooney confided that he had no reason not to give performances such as the legendary Pele and Diego Maradona. He was ready to give what he promised to his fans and will turn out to be the English savior in the end. He stated, ‘What Maradona did and Pele in three World Cups. They are the two stand out players to take the World Cup by the scruff of the neck and virtually win it single-handed. You look at those two and if you can do half of what they achieved, then that would be great”.

He said that he had forgotten about the last World Cup now and moved on. He also disclosed, “What drives me on is trying to win for England and trying to do well at world level. That's a great drive for any player”.

The English can indeed perform well but only if they play a sensible game. Time has seen them make irresponsible and careless mistakes that they have to pay for later on. Their goalkeeper issue is one that will haunt them. The English coach Fabio Capello has given a clue that he might use goalkeeper Robert Green to remove any ‘psychological issues’ that the English team might have in the match against Algeria.

Sources have relayed that Capello understands the West Ham United man and realizes that he is sorry for his mistake and had understood and learnt from his mistake. His gaffe against United States was the reason that led England in to jeopardy on their opening match. Capello announced, “he made one mistake, a big mistake, but in the second half he also made one great save [from Jozy Altidore]”.

Capello explained that Green made some pretty good saves and had polished himself well for the number 1 job. He also said that the job of a goalkeeper is the one of the toughest jobs on field, especially mentally. He collaborated that the goal keeper happened to be the lone person standing between the posts, that was the last line of defence, and what ever happened he was the man responsible for saving the goal in the end.

Capello commented that he will give a better performance despite the setback and along with him so will the rest of the English team in which he had full confidence. He said, “I think we are really in a good moment of form because we finished strongly against the USA, a team who normally run a lot. Other teams usually suffer against the US, but we were strong. For this reason, I'm really relaxed about this game. We have to win – that's the most important thing – but we are ready to play against Algeria.”
