2010 World champion Sebastian Vettel enjoys his achievements

Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel won his first drivers’ title in Formula 1 after a dramatic and exhilarating 2010 Formula 1 season. The young German became the youngest ever world champion in the history of the sport after he secured the win at the final race
at the illustrious Yas Marina Ciruit.
However, this was not the end of his achievements for this year as he was recently crowned officially as the 2010 Formula 1 World champion at the spectacular FIA Prize Giving ceremony in Monaco. Sebastian won the best driver of the year award at the AutoSports
awards, as a result of his unique performance in 2010. Sebastian Vettel scored 10 pole positions amazingly and 5 wins to secure the drivers’ title this year.
“I don't know why I didn't cry to be honest! You cannot believe how much this trophy means to me. To see the names there means so much. To have your name engraved there is amazing - and in the same line there are all the champions from 2000, 1990, 1980 and
so on. It is very special,” said the 2010 Formula 1 world champion.
With the help of Christian Horner and his team, Sebastian Vettel truly gave an astonishing performance this year but he had his fair share of mistakes along with it as well. Sebastian took out his teammate at the Turkish Grand Prix and ruined the race for
his team as Mark Webber was leading the race and in an attempt to overtake him, Vettel crashed into his car and as a result, Mark Webber finished in 3rd place.
“It was not just every win, it was every race. With the new points system, four points difference would have been just two points under the old structure! I am not going to give this trophy away - and I will try and defend it as hard as I can next year,”
he added.
However, with extra ordinary pace and a great car, Sebastian Vettel was able to secure the title but Mark Webber claims that the team was giving more preference to Sebastian since as he is younger than the Aussie and the team wants to evolve their car around
him rather than Mark Webber.
Things might change in 2011 or maybe not, since team orders will now be legal next year.
“Yes, for sure. Also to get the energy obviously for next year. At the beginning of this season I was printing out pictures of this trophy, because as a sportsman you look ahead. So this is a very, very nice souvenir, and very special, but you always look
forward to the next step,” said Sebastian.
