2011/12 Serie A fixtures unveiled
The 2011/12 Serie A season will kick start on 28th August 2011 and Lega Serie A officials have drawn the fixtures.
Defending Champions A.C Milan face a tough opening set of fixtures in defence of their title. The Rossoneri will travel to Sardinia to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Donadoni’s Cagliari in their opening game on 28th August. Massimiliano Allegri’s men will then
host Lazio before taking on UEFA Champions qualified Napoli and Udinese respectively. However, the Italian Champions have a comparatively easy end to the campaign, as they take on newcomers, Novara and Atlanta in two of the last three fixtures.
Last season’s runners-up, Inter Milan, will begin their challenge for Scudetto in a home game against Lecce. The Nerazzurri have a relatively easy set of opening fixtures, as they will take on the bigger sides like Roma and Napoli at San Siro, while their
away fixtures in the opening weeks are against minor teams. Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have a difficult fixture list waiting towards the end of the campaign, as they will travel to Udinese, Fiorentina, Parma and Lazio in the last five games. The first of the
Milan derbies will take place on 15th January, 2011 with the corresponding fixture to be played on 6th May, 2012.
Walter Mazzarri’s men will look to add early pressure on the title contenders by taking advantage of a fairly easy beginning to the season. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 will take on Genoa in the opening game at Stadio San Paolo, followed by a game against Cesena on the road.
Other Italian heavy weights, Juventus and A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, will begin their challenge against Udinese and Bologna respectively. Both teams will be eagerly waiting for the campaign to begin, as both are looking to prove their worth after a less than impressive 2010/11
season.
