2011-2012 NBA Playoff Teams from the Eastern Conference: NBA Prediction (Part-1)
The 2010-2011 National Basketball Association (NBA) season proved a very successful season and culminated with the Dallas Mavericks clinching their first ever NBA Championship. No one thought as the Dallas Mavericks would thrash
everybody in the league and eventually take the Larry O’Brien Trophy to their city. Not only did they make this happen but they made it happen with style. Now the season has over and every team is preparing for the next season.
Although, the trophy went to the Western Conference side, but the Eastern Conference still has some fire power to excel in the next season. Out of fifteen teams in the Eastern Conference, there are just eight potential teams which
could challenge each-other for the playoff spots. These eight teams include the Indiana Pacers, New Jersey Nets, Atlanta Hawks, Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat.
Eighth Playoff spot: Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers played with full energy last year and qualified for the playoffs. They finished 8th
overall from the Eastern Conference and went through to the next round. Their first round matchup was against the top team from the same Conference, the Chicago Bulls, which showed no respect to their down the stretch hard work especially in the regular
season. They thrashed the pacers with great force and pushed them hard in every game and eventually won the best-of-seven first round series with 4-1.
Although, the pacers tried their best to make a comeback in the series as they bounced back in the very second game and won with 89-84 but the Bulls were more determined in all the remaining games and never let the Paces to outplay
them again. Comparing the stats with the regular season, the Pacers never showed any improvement in the post season. The Indiana Pacers won total 37 and lost 45 games in the season 2010-2011 and their winning percentage remained at 0.451.
Apart from their last year’s poor performance, the Pacers have now a very good chance to make a comeback next season. The Pacers management also knows regarding the very fact of achieving the playoff spot first in the next season
and then try to make a futuristic strategy for their franchise. Many basketball experts are also agree as the Pacers still have enough energy to compete at the highest level. The only thing lacking in their entire roster is, the ability to challenge a big
team like the Bulls.
The Paces should realize as they too can perform at any level and most importantly against every opponent in the league. The Pacers have a very good roster comprising of youth and experience. They just need to focus on their playing
strategy which is not up-to its best level. Many witnessed in the last playoffs as their defensive capabilities are certainly very good but they need to work on their offensive ball play to maintain the playoff spot next season.
