2011 ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Ivan Ljubicic to face off in semi-finals

Seeded 8th  at the 2011 ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament, Frenchman, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, received a walk over from opponent Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic in the quarterfinal match of his draw to secure a place for himself in the semi-finals
of the tournament.
Tsonga will be opposed by 7th seed, Ivan Ljubicic, of Croatia in the following round.

Ljubicic made it through upon defeating Cyprus', Marcos Baghdatis, in the quarterfinal match played between the two.
The Croatian instantly exercised his authority on the game, taking the first set 6-4. However, after going nip and tuck in the second set, it was Baghdatis, who came out victorious, taking the set 7-6. The two remained evenly contested all through the deciding
third set, which was eventually taken 7-6 by Ivan, eliminating Marcos from the tournament.

Baghdatis made it through upon defeating, Spaniard Feliciano Lopez 7-6 and 6-3 in the second round. Meanwhile, Ljubicic battled it out against Frenchman, Benoit Paire, beating him 6-0 in the first set and 6-4 in the set to follow.

Lopez went head to head with Germany's, Florian Mayer, in the initial round, defeating him 6-3 and 6-4 in straight sets. Alongside, Baghdatis got rid of Briton Andy Murray, thrashing him 6-4 and 6-1.

Earlier, Tsonga faced Frenchman, Michael Llodra, in the second round. Llodra got off to a good start, taking the first set 6-4. However, in a reverse of fortune, Michael lost the second set 4-6 and the deciding third set 4-6 to be sent home.

Llodra opposed Russia's, Nikolay Davydenko, in the first round beating him 6-3 and 7-6. Tsonga battled it out against qualifier Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria in the first round. Dimitrov was defeated 6-4, 6-4 to be eliminated from the tournament.

 

Additionally, Mikhail Youzhny of Russia will be going head to head with defending champion, Sweden's Robin Soderling, in the quarterfinals for a place in the semi-finals of the 2011 ABN Amro Tennis Tournament.
Meanwhile, Viktor Troicki of Serbia will be opposing Croatia's Marin Cilic in the quarterfinal match of their draw to be put through to the following round.
