2011 Betfred.com World Snooker Championship – Day one in running
Day one of the 2011 Betfred.com World Snooker Championship is underway. Defending champion, Neil Robertson started off the championship with the Bristolian ace, Judd Trump, while Jamie Cope and Andrew Pagett played on the other table.
Neil Robertson v Judd Trump
Both players are going neck to neck with a frame score of 2-2. Though the first chance in the opening frame fell for the twenty-year-old Trump, he failed to capitalize it. A few more chances presented themselves before the Thunder from the Down Under, Robertson,
fired up a classy break of 72 to have the first blood.
Robertson had also taken the second frame but, unfortunately, missed the last red and gifted the frame to his opponent. It was a similar story in the third frame, as Robertson was leading by 51-4 points before he lost his nerves and lost the frame. However
the world number five, Robertson, has managed to level the things by 2-2 with a dominant break of 66 before the mid-session interval.
Jamie Cope v Andrew Pagett
These two players have the score-line of 2-2 before the interval. First frame between the two was a scrappy affair. A bout of safety play was seen among the player, but it was Cope in the end who came on the top to have the first blood 1-0. Cope was also
the first one to be among the balls in the second but this time he lost his emotions, breaking down on 45 and when the chance presented itself, the Crucible Debutant, Pagett, slotted a superb break of 75 to level the things at 1-1.
An opposite story was in the third frame, as this time, Pagett broke at 39 before Cope compiled a decisive break of 49 to restore his lead by 2-1. He could have taken the fourth as well but on the last moment, unfortunately he knocked the cue-ball in off
the yellow and Pagett levelled the score by 2-2.
