2011 Bombardier Pacific Coast Open Player Ratings: Grants Farm 10 vs. Piaget 6

In the crucial fixture of the 2011 Bombardier Pacific Coast Open that will be characterised as a snooze fest, Grants Farm and Piaget contested a dull 10-6 game at the Santa Barbara Polo Club. Both the polo line-ups were looking lethargic and unhurried in
marking the goals. It was one of the low-scoring matches where only sixteen goals were scored in the six chukkas of play. The defenders from the two teams rendered outstanding performances and played important role in minimising the scoring.
Let’s take a look at how the Grants Farm team delivered an outstanding show and marked the victory by four goals, 10-6.
Grants Farm
Nic Morrison: 04/10

Morrison could have done better to halt the opening goals by blocking the opponent attackers at the defensive positions. The main reason behind his struggling game was his hastiness therefore he could not create many chances for his front runners. Apart
from some sloppy moves, he made dives on couple of occasion to keep Piaget players at bay in the match.
Nic Roldan: 08/10
Not only he showed outstanding performances at the Number one position, but he also scored seven times in the vital match. He also rendered remarkably impressive support with Hall at the number three position. The Argentinean player exhibited a lot to prove
his worth over the game. The only grey area of his show was his delivery from a far-away position. He was quite dreadful with his delivery from the left flank despite getting into well moves.
Jeff Hall: 06/10
Hall was at his best and took his goal reasonably well. He had great grip over the ball and used his sharp movement around the arena fixed between him and his team-mates. His obstinate style of play had an assist for his front-runner to keep hold of possession
and place the ball right on the direction of the strikers.
Andy Busch: 03/10
Busch – the player from Grants Farm could not cope with the movement and speed of the opponent strikers particularly Jason Crowder. He, however, at the same time did well to get rid of the regular attacks especially in the first half of play.
Piaget
Juan Bollini: 05/10
Bollini added one score in the scoring but failed to stop opponent strikers to mark goals. His switching techniques had cost his team in the form of a heavy margin of defeat.
Melissa Ganzi: 04/10
Like his defending partner, Ganzi also failed to do enough to lock out the strikes from the other side. He struggled to serve his team on offence and defence.
Miguel Astrada: 06/10
Apart from scoring two goals, he was forced to make numerous fine denials at the midfield position. He had little time to stop shots at the defensive positions that allowed the opposite team to increase their tally. Though he displayed good rides towards
the downfield, he could not deliver reasonable results.
Jason Crowder: 07/10
Crowder – the all time active player from Piaget gave a perfect performance but they did not have enough luck to win the game. Crowder was looking at his superb form in both the passing game and penalty conversion. In the first half of play, he acquired
the possession of the ball on many occasions but could not convert many of the chances.
