2011 Bombardier Pacific Coast Open Player Ratings: Mansour vs. ERG - 14-13
Mansour played against ERG at the first round of the 2011 Bombardier Pacific Coast Open being held at the Santa Barbra Polo Club in California. In order to win the match, the Mansour foursome was looking not to waste any opportunity in the six chukkas of
play.
Conversely, in spite of putting in a worthy battle, Mansour won the game with only a single goal 14-13. Both the ERG and Mansour teams did the action quite professionally and scored 27 goals in the six frames. It is worth mentioning here that Lolo Castagnola
and Miguel Astrada changed their teams and both the Mansour and Piaget won the maiden fixtures of the tournament.
Mansour
Ben Soleimani: 05.10
Soleimani has not had any handicap in his credit and similarly he could not make an impact in the match. Playing at the defensive position, he was beaten for speed by the strikers from Mansour on many occasions. However, he himself could not make an impact
in the match. On the other side, he also failed to support his front runners.
Sapo Caset: 09.10
Caset opened his account in the tournament with a wonderful record of eleven goals in the first round competition which would help them in the upcoming fixtures. It was a good show, as he carried out 90 percent of the action and made the victory possible
for Mansour. His pace, stick-work and lengthy rides were impressive parts of the game that allowed him to score in double figure. He though faced difficulty in finding spaces for scoring in the start but he gathered pace and ruined the defence-line of ERG
side. He managed his scoring through the field efforts as well penalty conversions.
Lolo Castagnola: 08.10
It was an outstanding performance from Castagnola who just joined the foursome days ahead of the tournament. At the number three position, he not only added three goals but delivered wonderful efforts in the blocking the strikes from the either side. He
read the game well particularly the strategies from the other side. His plenty of athletic rides and moves created opportunities for the front man.
Jared Sheldon: 04.10
Despite getting many chances, Sheldon misplaced loads of simple passes as well the chances to increase the scoring. He neither shined on defence nor at the offensive position.
ERG
Scott Wood: 05.10
He did not have positive impacts on the game despite playing in the crucial position. He committed many mistakes that made the victory for either side possible.
Paco de Narvaez: 08.10
The performance from Narvaez was a nightmare for Mansour defenders, as they failed to cope with his speed. He scored seven times to take the score close. His understanding of the game and techniques were superb but luck was not with them and they lost the
match.
Sebastian Merlos: 7.5.10
Merlos profited massively from defenders of the either side. His six notches were the main reward of lively show that allowed the ERG side to make a comeback into the match. His speed and ridings were outstanding that enthralled every spectator sitting in
the arena. He not only scored as many goals but also helped his front man to continue the scoring.
Miguelito Torres: 04.10
Torres was quite poor in the play and struggled in the opening match. He did find some chances from the inverse side to cross over the ball. He could have had a decent game if he did not show laziness offence.
