2011 Brasilia Open all set to begin on Sunday – Beach Volleyball news
The 2011 Brasilia Open is less than one day away and a total of 79 men’s and 61 women’s teams from 36 countries have now installed their bases in Brazil.
The beautiful beaches of the Rio de Janeiro are all set to host the beach volleyball action starting from tomorrow. The Brasilia Open will mark the official opening of 2011 SWATCH World Tour on Sunday, 17 April.
The tournament will be led by American top-seeded Phil Dalhausser/Todd Rogers and Brazilian top seeds Juliana Felisberta Silva and Larissa Franca. The champions of the 2010 SWATCH FIVB World Tour will surely be trying to extend their winning streak. Nonetheless,
the other aspiring beach volleyball stars will also be on board to prove their endeavours.
The Brasilia Open is one of the 12 double-gender events of the 2011 schedule. The 2010 SWATCH FIVB completed its run of double-gender events in August with the successful completion of Milner Open in the Netherlands.
Hence, the passionate beach volleyball fans had a long break to witness the hot action of the beach volleyball duos. That is one of the many reasons that 2011 Brasilia Open is likely to attract more than one million fans.
Teams from Kazakhstan, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Chile, Czech Republic, Columbia, Venezuela, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Japan, Latvia, The Netherlands,
New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United States, and Uruguay are scheduled to show up at the double gender event of Brasilia Open.
The top men’s team heading into the 2011 season is the duo of Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers from United States. They proved their extraordinary skills in the 2010 season and climbed up the stairs of popularity. The American top guns picked up nine title
wins during the last season and carved their names in the golden words of history. The duo looks fairly good to launch their authority on the competitors in the SWATCH FIVB Opener.
