2011 FINA World Championships: Women’s Long Course meet – Predictions
The Women’s Long Course swimming events at the 2011 FINA World Championships are set to take place in Shanghai, China, on this weekend.
In the Women’s 400m freestyle meet, Rebecca Adlington of Great Britain is predicted to win the gold medal, while Federica Pellegrini is believed to win the silver crown. Camille Muffat is deemed to grab bronze in the respective meet.
In addition, Adlington is believed to capture the golden crown in the Women’s 800m freestyle, whereas, Chloe Sutton is assumed to win silver. Kate Ziegler is predicted to notch the bronze medal.
Adlington snared two gold medals for Great Britain in the Women’s 400m and 800m freestyle finals at the 2008 Olympic Games, in Beijing. Besides, she won the gold medal in the 800m freestyle at the 2008 World Championships, in Manchester.
Furthermore, she grabbed the golden crown in the 400m freestyle meet at the 2010 European Championships, in Budapest. Moreover, Adlington captured two gold medals in the 400m and 800m freestyles at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, in Delhi.
Stephanie Rice of Australia is predicted to win the gold medal in the Women’s 400m Individual Medley meet. Elizabeth Beisel is predicted to snare silver, while Liz Xuanxu is considered as the top contender to win the bronze title.
Rice won three gold medals in the Women’s 200m, 400m IM and 4x200m freestyle events at the 2008 Olympic Games, in Beijing. In the 2009 World Championships, she snatched two silver medals in the 200m and 4x100m IM races, in Rome. Additionally, Stephanie took
home two gold medals in the 200m and 400m Individual Medley finals at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, in Melbourne.
In the Women’s 400m freestyle relay, Netherlands is predicted to snag the golden crown, whereas, United States is the best contenderto win silver. For the third position on the podium, the Australian squad is looking to take home the bronze title.
Australia is also predicted to win the gold medal in the Women’s 800m free relay. United States of America is the best candidate to grab silver, while China is deemed to win bronze.  
United States is also the hot favourite to snag the golden crown in the Women’s 400m Medley Relay final. China is predicted to secure the silver medal, whereas, Australia is being termed as the team which will snare the bronze title.
