2011 FINA World Championships: Women’s meet - Predictions
With the 2011 FINA World Championships in full swing in Shanghai, here are the predictions for the Women’s meets which are set to commence this weekend. Several swimmers are depicted to put in their best efforts to clinch the titles of the event.
In the Women’s 50m freestyle meet, Netherlands’ Ranomi Kromowidjojo is believed to notch the gold medal, while Britta Steffen is assumed to win the silver title. Therese Alshammar is the top contender to capture bronze in the respective category.
Femke Heemskerk of Netherlands is predicted to grab the Women’s 100m freestyle crown, whereas, Brittan Steffen is considered as the favourite for the grab silver medal. Fran Halsall of Great Britain is predicted to capture bronze.
Italian’s Federica Pellegrini is deemed to secure the gold medal in the Women’s 200m freestyle meet. Allison Schmitt is assumed to win silver, while Kylie Palmer is termed as the best contender to take home the bronze title.
Chloe Sutton of the United States is the hot favourite to win the gold medal in the Women’s 1500m freestyle race. Lotte Friis is predicted to snag silver, whereas, Kate Ziegler is seen as the bronze title holder in the meet.
Japan’s Aya Terakawa is deemed to win the golden crown in the Women’s 50m back-stroke category, while Anastasia Zueva is believed to grab silver. Gao Chang is predicted to win the bronze medal.
Aya Terakawa is a top contender to snare the gold medal in the Women’s 100m back-stroke, while Kirsty Coventry is predicted to capture the Women’s 200m back-stroke crown.
Jessica Hardy of United States has good chances to win the gold medal in the Women’s 50m breast-stroke, while Rebecca Soni is considered to take the silver title. Yuliya Efimova is assumed to clinch bronze in the event.
Rebecca Soni is likely to snare the Women’s 100m breast-stroke crown, whereas, Leisel Jones is contemplated to notch silver and Yulilya Efimova is deemed to take bronze. Moreover, Soni is also predicted to win the gold medal in the Women’s 200m breast-stroke.
Therese Alshammar will probably top the Women’s 50m butterfly meet, while Sarah Sjostrom is believed to win the Women’s 100m butterfly title. On the other hand, Liu Zige has good chances to win the Women’s 200m butterfly crown and Ariana Kukors is the hot favourite
to capture the Women’s 200m Individual Medley title.
