2011 NBA Draft Lottery Update: Five most over-rated draft picks - Part 2
Kawhi Leonard
At the Number four position we have Kawhi Leonard the 6ft 7in plays as a small forward in the San Diego State Aztecs Men's basketball team.
In a very short span of time, Leonard has achieved a lot. He was selected as Mr. Basketball California when he was a senior back in 2009. As a sophomore Leonard was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2010 Mountain West Conference Men's Basketball Tournament.
Leonard also led the MWC in rebounding as a freshman.
As compared to Thompson, Leonard showed great rebounding skills along with decent moves. He also dished some serious jumpers during the last season.
However, when one talks about the National Basketball Association there are much bigger players, when it comes to rebounding and Leonard has to change his approach more on the likes of perimeter style, as he does not look that effective as a rebounder in
front of the NBA’s big names. Though he is athletic, but it is going to be very tough for him to change his whole game.
The NBA scouts picked him because of his talent, as he is more like Trevor Ariza when he was at his peak. It will be best for him if he plays as a fifth starter and not more than that.
Terrence Jones
Terrence Jones is another small forward in the NBA Draft, who is a player from University of Kentucky. The 6ft 8in is at Number three on the list, the big man has destroyed many college defences from the post.
The problem with him is that if he does not play low in the NBA then it is hard to find a spot for him in the offence where he can fit in. He also lacks go-to technique and a tweener reputation. Jones is almost good at everything whether it is shooting or
distributing and has that quickness too, but he is master of none.
Analysts think that if he wants a permanent spot in the NBA then he should play as a sixth man, as he is no less than Lamar Odom if he improves his jumpers.
Bismack Biyombo
Bismack Biyombo comes at Number two and many compare his game with young Ben Wallace. He has that elite swiftness and athleticism and his freakish wingspan makes him an explosive player, who definitely has an upside.
The problem with Biyombo is that he possesses all necessary tools, but he is a sheer raw talent and requires extreme grooming. That is the only way for him to develop. Second issue with him is that his agent claims that he is 18-years-old and the analysts
are not sure completely about his age and that makes him such big peril.
Currently he is among the top ten players, but the scouts are rating him high because of his athleticism and there are some rumours that he can be taken up to top five or even into top three.
Kemba Walker
Kemba Walker is the Number one over-rated pick on our list, despite the fact that he was the best player of the college basketball this season. Walker is the point guard of the University of Kentucky.
Kemba is very quick and very tough, as he can drive the lane as well as get in the paint. There is no doubt that he has that ability that can take him far, but the problem with him is that he does not fit well in the role of a shooting guard since he is
just 6ft tall. The height factor counts a lot in NBA as it gives more vision and better handling to play the point.
The misconception about him is that he is a good shooter, but his stats do not reflect that. During this season he shot 43 percent from the field and 33 percent beyond the arc. He is more prominent from the field and did well until the non-conference play,
but when Big East play began he was not that good.
