2011 NHL Awards Update: Dierks Bentley and Far East Movement to perform at the event in Palms Hotel
The biggest National Hockey League (NHL) event, after the playoffs of course, will be held on Wednesday, June 22nd, at the Pearl Concert Theatre inside the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Along with the exciting award ceremony, country music singer, Dierks Bentley, and the hip hop / electro pop group, Far East Movement, will be performing live, which was announced on Friday by the NHL.
The NHL Awards is not just an event which is held annually to recognise players in different categories and award them for their performances. It is much more than that.
It provides an opportunity for not only the league and players to get together, but also the fans who wish to see their players up close and in reality.
The awards’ ceremony gives a softer side to the NHL which is usually associated with having big strong players fighting each other on the ice and checking others into the side boards.
NHL heritage will be tapped by Dierks Bentley, a multi-platinum country musician, who has made a name for himself in the industry as one of the greatest country singers out there.
Bentley not only has a passion for singing but is also a well known hockey fan. His songs have earned him nominations in various categories at the Academy of Country Music Awards, Country Music Awards and Grammy Awards this year.
Bentley’s most notable contributions for the NHL was his recent revised video of the "Am I The Only One" song, which was re-released with footage of the previous regular season and his recent tour around different cities.
Far East Movement started its musical introduction in 2003 and has made a reputation for itself as one of the most unique and creative band in the hip hop/ electro pop genre today.
The group consists of Kev Nish, James Roh, J-Splif and DJ Virman who are known for their successful collaborated songs with artists like Bruno Mars, Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga and Rihanna.
The 2011 NHL Awards will most probably be one of the most exciting one in the history of the event since the season and playoffs were intense and extremely electrifying.
The event will begin at 7pm ET on the Versus Network in the USA and CBC for viewers in Canada.
