2011 World Snooker Q School Event 1: Day Three – Session 2 Results
The best-of-seven frames, Session 2 on Day-3 of this season’s World Snooker Q School has concluded at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield.
The overall results for the afternoon session are given below:
George Marter 1-4 Robin Hull
It was an impressive performance from Finland’s Robin Hull, as he showed great temperament to register a 1-4 win over George Marter. Englishman, Marter dominated the first frame with a break of 45 to take the initial lead, 1-0. However, Hull showed no reeling
effects, as he bounced back into the game, with all of his energy and won the following four frames straight, to seal an impressive win at 1-4. He also enjoyed breaks of 51, 31, 35 and 31 in the last four frames, respectively.
Mohammed Raoof 3-4 Craig Barber
The match saw cut-throat competition between Indian, Mohammed Raoof and Englishman, Craig Barber. In the end, Barber came on the top to cruise into the next round. The top break during the match was of 58, which came from Barber in the fourth frame.
Tony Knowles 0-4 Mike Hallett
This was a battle between two legends, as Tony Knowles and Mike Hallett both have been former World Number Two and World Number Six, respectively. However, it was an accomplishing performance from Hallett, as he completely white-washed his fellow countryman
by a frame score of 0-4. Knowles knocked in a break of 30 in the first frame before he lost his nerves. In the following three frames, many chances were seen coming and going but every time it was Hallett who came on the top with breaks of 45, 32 and 32, respectively.
Gareth Edwards 0-4 Dean Venables
This match was also over within a blink of an eye, as Englishman, Dean Venables completely outplayed Welshman, Gareth Edwards, by a frame score of 0-4. It was an old-fashioned match, as there were no reasonable breaks made. Venables showcased his flawless
safety skills to move into the next round.
Sachin Plaha 0-4 Reanne Evans
The best performance of the session came in the last frame from seven-time World Ladies Champion, Reanne Evans, as she secured a place in the next round after white-washing Sachin Plaha, by frame score of 0-4. She also racked up a session-highest break of
80 in the last frame.
