2012 China Open: Ma Jin, Tang Jinhua tread into Women’s Doubles pre quarter-final round

Women’s Doubles partners Ma Jin and Tang Jinhua forged a fruitful chemistry and secured a pre quarter-final berth in Li Ning China Open on Wednesday, November 14, 2012.
They sent Suci Rizky Andini-Della Destiara Haris packing by registering an impressive result of 21-8 and 21-17.
However, it was not a smooth ride to victory as they had to put an extra effort to read the favourable figures in this 43-minute match.
The prime Chinese campaigners had huge support of the local crowd in Shanghai and they gave their supporters a solid to reason to celebrate after sealing a straight-set victory.
Ma Jin and Tang Jinhua started the beating right from the very first stroke and did not show any mercy throughout this battle.
In the opening game, they played with an authoritative approach right from the beginning and mounted pressure with 7-3 total.
They did not drop their pace in next couple of rallies and strengthened their grip over the game by piling up 11-6 margin before the interval.
After the mid-game break, Ma Jin and Tang Jinhua injected more intensity in their attack and confined their rivals in the rear court.
At first, they doubled their lead with 15-7 and then swept the table with a notable difference in 21-8 score.
This first set loss proved too much for the Indonesian campaigners as they failed to come out of their challengers’ influence in the following game.
Though, Suci Rizky and Della Destiara made every effort to counter-balance the situation but their fluctuated performance proved the biggest hurdle in their way to success.
They took off in perfect manner and prevailed in couple of establishing rallies. They capitalised this initial advantage and finished the first half of the set with a respectable margin of 11.
However, the second half was sheer disappointment for them as the twosome of Ma Jin and Tang Jinhua bounced back with a strong reply.
The Chinese players showed superb coordination and locked the honour with an overwhelming figure of 21-17.
Now the real challenge awaits them in second round as they are to meet World Number three team Wang Xiaoli-Yu Yang (F).
