2012 Dutch Open: Fabienne Deprez tames Natalya Voytsekh in opening round of Women’s Singles event
Women’s Singles expert Fabienne Deprez had a perfect start of Yonex Dutch Open as she overpowered Natalya Voytsekh in the opening round on October 10, 2012.

The victorious shuttler came back from a horrendous start and saved some honour by prevailing in the last two games.
On the other hand, the Ukrainian female campaigner frittered away a golden opportunity of a straight-set win and crashed out in a disgraceful manner.
Natalya, who was an unseeded player in this tournament, took off perfectly and bagged the opening match point with distinction.
She set the foundation of her supremacy by ruling the court in six consecutive rallies. She made the best out of this initial advantage and got into commanding position with 8-3 total.
Though, Fabienne made every effort to come out of this deficit but she could not stop her rival from putting an overwhelming margin of 11-6.

However, this proved her last success of the tournament as Fabienne turned the tables in the final two games.

Fabienne caught her rival at 11-11 and then stood toe-to-toe until game point situation. She showed elevated craft in the final moments and levelled match score with a tight yet favourable margin of 22-20.
The decider was expected to be nerve-racking contest as both contenders were standing on same level with one win each.
Unexpectedly, it turned into a one-sided affair as the Ukrainian shuttler put a below par performance and allowed Fabienne to claim the victory with a notable lead.
The German player showed consistency in the game and mounted pressure with 11-7 total. Later she smacked her competitor with a staggering knock of 21-11.
Now her next challenge is to surpass Karina Jorgensen in the pre quarter-final round.
