Indonesia’s budding female shuttler Ais Suparman grabbed all the attention in Djarum Sirnas Flypower Bali Open as she reserved a spot in the quarter-final round on November 6, 2012.
She was up against Maria Natalia Mainaky in this pre quarter-final tussle and the final figures of 13-21, 21-11 and 26-24 declared her the winner of this 40-minute tussle.
However, it was not an easy win as Ais had to put an extra effort throughout the three games. She fought hard throughout the match-up and managed to regain her dominance over her competitor.
On the other hand, Maria squandered her first set win and knelt down in the pressure situation. She kick-started her campaign in perfect manner and bagged first match point with distinction.
In the opening game, she unleashed a flurry of power packed strokes and confined her challenger in the rear court.
She made best out of her dominance in the establishing rallies and piled up a mountainous figure of 11 before the interval.
After the mid-game break, she gathered some pace and left her competitor far behind with a significant margin of 21-13.
However, she could not go with the same flow in the following game as the opposing shuttler put her expedition to halt.
This time Ais Suparman did not repeat previous mistakes and ruled the court straight away in the beginning.
She established an unassailable lead by purring a respectable figure of 11 at half time and then doubled the impact by adding couple of uninterrupted points in her total.
Later part of the game was completely dominated by Ais as she did not give her rival even a single opportunity to proceed as she swept the table with a notable difference in 21-11 score.
Third set proved the best part of this encounter as both contenders made the crowd gasp with a breath-taking performance.
They remained close on the points table until game point situation and this nerve-racking set ended when Ais Suparman registered a winning margin of 26-24.
Now she will lock horns with Putri Sekartaji P in the quarter-final round of this tournament.
