2012 Flypower Bali Open: Kho Henrikho Wibowo outshines Abdul Muis to surge into third round
Men’s Singles expert Kho Henrikho Wibowo played flawless badminton and reserved his right to be in the pre quarter-finals of Djarum Sirnas Flypower Bali Open on November 6, 2012.
He thrashed Abdul Muis in a second round match which was staged at the local badminton arena of Denpasar, Indonesia.
This tussle remained in full swing for 25 minutes and both contenders entertained the crowd while piling up final figures of 21-13 and 21-16.
However, Kho Henrikho showed superior craft on the court and sealed a splendid straight-set victory.
He laid foundation of his dominance by grabbing the opening match point and then raised hands as victor after prevailing in the second set.
The Indonesian youngster made his intentions clear by claiming few consecutive points in the beginning of first set.
His honest effort yielded good results in next couple of rallies as he doubled his lead by registering an impressive figure of 11.
At half time, Kho Henrikho was in strong position with a decent advantage and he capitalised this initial lead to strengthen his grip over the game.
On the other hand, things became worse for Abdul Muis as he let many valuable points slip from his hands and failed to come out of this deficit.
The higher ranked shuttler Kho Henrikho made best out of his rival’s blunders and swept the table with a significant difference in 21-13 score.
Next game proved a tough trial for both contenders as they put all in their possession to oust the opponent.
Kho Henrikho was looking to transform his 1-0 lead into a straight-set victory whereas Abdul Muis was striving to counter-balance the situation.
Initially, Muis showed some spark and enjoyed an upper hand in the establishing rallies but then a few unforced errors triggered the collapse.
Kho Henrikho did not fritter away this opportunity and reinstated his authority with a gutsy knock. He got into commanding position in third quarter of the set and wrapped this showdown with 21-16 score on the board.
This win took him into the quarter-finals where another Indonesian campaigner, Topas Wismoyo is waiting for him.
