2012 Flypower Bali Open: Putri Sekartaji tames Ais Suparman to secure a semi-final berth

Women’s Singles expert Putri Sekartaji P remained invincible in the quarter-final round of Djarum Sirnas Flypower Bali Open and reserved the right to be in the semi-finals on November 8, 2012.
She was up against the compatriot shuttler Ais Suparman and she passed this tough test with a distinctive margin of 21-12 and 21-18.
However, it was not an easy win as she had to wait for 30 minutes to raise hands as victor in the local badminton arena of Denpasar, Indonesia.
Putri Sekartaji played with great control and wrapped this showdown in just two games. She laid the foundation of her supremacy immediately in the beginning and maintained an upper hand all the way to final moments.
On the other hand, Ais Suparman failed to revive her lost form and crashed out of the event after receiving a severe blow of 2-0 defeat.
The battle heated up straight away in the establishing rallies of the first set as Putri Sekartaji unleashed a flurry of power packed strokes and pushed her rival on the back-foot.
She bagged valuable points at steady pace and piled up a mountainous figure of 11 before the mid-game break.
After the interval, she showed consistency in her performance and outclassed the opposing shuttler in all areas of the game.
At first, she mounted pressure with an indomitable total in third quarter of the set and then capitalised this psychological edge to place a winning margin of 21-12.
However, the second set was not a dead contest like the previous game as this time Ais Suparman showed some spark and challenged her competitor technically and tactically.
In first half of the set, she employed interesting tactics and confounded Putri Sekartaji with a mesmerising sow of skills.
Though, she ruled the court until a respectable score position of 11 but few back-to-back mistakes weakened her grip in the second half.
The third seeded shuttler Putri Sekartaji did not squander this counter-attack opportunity and reinstated her supremacy with a strong reply.
She registered an overwhelming margin of 21-18 and qualified for the semi-final round of 2012 Djarum Sirnas Flypower Bali Open.
