Chasing a target of 160 to win, Hamish Marshall led the Gladiators from the front, hitting a pugnacious knock of 72 runs from just 49 balls to put the side on its way to a comfortable seven-wicket win over  Midlands/Wales/West Group leaders, Worcestershire.
The New Zealander was well supported by the club’s Australian import, Ed Cowan. The Australian Test opener, making his debut with the Gladiators, hit a scintillating 70 off 48 deliveries, with nine fours and two sixes, and shared a second wicket stand of
142 runs in 15 overs, as the hosts chased down the 160-run target by the end of 18th over.

scored a 26-ball 43, including four fours and two sixes, to take the side to a respectable total of 159 for 6.
Saxelby and Norwell shared two wickets each, while Fuller and Young returned with one scalp apiece.
