2012!!! Further explanation?

Okay, i am definitely not a philosopher, nor do i choose to be, but i believe everything happens for a reason.

I have been noticing this topic for about 3 days know and its making me upset. People are not noticing the big part of the end of the Mayans calender. THE WORD "PREDICTION"!

UFO's sound as crazy to me as the next person, but if there actually was a "12 planet" called "niburu", scientists have discovered it before, and thus proving my point that we would have known about it world wide years ago.

Yes maybe the ocean jet stream might corrupt, and even stop causing cold weather to make florida become iceland, no big deal. We can handle another change in the world, we already have to recreate the atlas.

But the thing about the Mayans is a bit scary, i must be honest, but they also said " a prediction of a change in the world". When the calender ends,a and a start of a new millenia, there will be a change in era, and i do believe that. But seriously! IS IT POSSIBLE, THERE TO BE 36 FOOT TALL SKELETAL STRUCTURES, AND WE CALL THEM ALIENS?!

Evolution, think back, there was a human race that had a more highly developed brain than we do now. I believe that race was called the neandertalls(s.p). If there surely was a life form higher and more developed than us to master flying without jets and wings, i am more than positive they wouldn't have a human like skeleton. Plus those pictures look kinda fake.

This could make you mad, or question in more, but i believe what i want to believe, and i believe these are crackpot theories straight from scientologist culture, the same ones that believe that an alien enslaved primitive humans, and tortured them by throwing aqua bombs on them.

All in all we had y2k theories before 2000, and we all expected there to always be more.

Google end of the world, 2010,2011,2012,2013,2014,2015,2016(etc.) same responses, end of the world...

It will end one day, but many of us in this generation will not live long to see it, even though our life expectancy is almost passed 100.

Think there would be scientific answers, and i believe god would have a plan for us.

If the anit-christ truly does rise, jesus himself will be here. And i am not that religious. But i believe enough into the mighty powers that they would find pity on the sinned ones, and give every body a second chance, thus leading back to the Mayans, the great change of era has been answered by an opinion from an american teenager who has hope for this world.

Please, feel free to put your own input in, and do not be disgruntled by my opinion. I just feel there are many explanations, and someone has to put in a positive opinion.

Oh and one more thing, look at Hitler and pol pot. Seemingly two anti-christs, but we believe the world would see another?

Think about and research our presidential candidates better. We all know Obama has the best chance, and having a black president could be the ignition of "The Change of Era".

HOW MANY OF YOU IGNORANT PEOPLE ARE GOING TO ASK IF THE WORLD IS GOING TO END OVER AND OVER AND OVER, DAY IN AND DAY OUT.  BEFORE YOU FINALLY REALIZE, SCIENTISTS DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT, THEY SAID THE SAME ABOUT 6-6-06 WERE STILL ALIVE 2 YEARS LATER. sorry to yell but i have to get this through your head some way. were not going to die. i assure you.

We are currently in the era of pisces in the precession of the equinoxes.  The mayan calender may have been quite aware of this cosmic transition.  It is very fascinating, and you should study more into pre-colombian history to learn more, but translated correctly the Mayans say it will be the beginning to a new world, possibly just  a transition into the era of Aquarius, but in order for a new world to begin it may mean the world we know must end.  The ancient people of the Americas were very much into geological events though, there is a possibility they may know of some kind of pattern we aren't aware of. We worry about the end of the world because it could be an echo of our past that we are not consiously aware of.  We lived through the ice ages and a great flood according to all ethnic groups

Actually there is a tin hat cult  - Texas I believe.  The end of the world predictions/manias have always been around, always will be around and the only sad thing is the people who waste their lives preparing for the big event that never happens.

I do think it's an interesting subject.  I also think you'll get a lot of people just giving you curt answers about how dumb all those theories are.  Unfortunately with no real substance to back up their claims.

2012 is VERY different from Y2K as that was a man-made issue, and a very simple one.  We were afraid the computers that run our world these days, weren't prepared for a possible code issue of only having 2 digit years as opposed to 4.  So I wouldn't put much stock in comparing the two.

Personally I don't trust anyone who is 100% for or against those theories.  There are simply too many stories, artifacts, etc for their to be no truth to any of it, and yet, if some of it is true, there are also a lot of discrepancies and unanswered questions.

There is also a lot of controversy about the Mayan calendar, as it has to be interpreted since it doesn't calculate time like we do. There are also some who simply believe 2012 is where the Mayan calendar starts over.

The supreme conspiracy buffs of course believe that all the world governments know about this and that they and the Vatican have secret planetariums monitoring Nibiru, and that they have a series of underground shelters ready to hold the world's powerful and elite, and that the limited space is why they are keeping it from the public.

My jury is still out, though I certainly wouldn't put anything past most of the governments on the planet.

Chances are, if there is anyone out there who truly has seen any real evidence of this, they probably aren't responding to YA! questions.

As for whether Obama is the anti-christ or not, I really can't say.  I certainly think he would be disasterous for our country, but that's from a more pragmatic point of view.  I do know the Left Behind Christian Book Series has it's central theme about the return of an anti-christ who at first seems to be a savior, and who promises to bring hope and change, gets elected, then assasinated and comes back from the dead to basically destroy us.  That character, while just a fictional one in a book, is certainly similar to Obama, and of course was written long before the current election.
