2012 Macau Open: Jiaming Tao, Tang Jinhua reserve right to be in Mixed Doubles second round
China’s experienced Mixed Doubles experts Jiaming Tao and Tang Jinhua employed all of their brilliance and earned a spot in the pre quarter-finals of Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold on November 28, 2012.
They overpowered Yoo Yeon Seong-Jang Ye Na of Korea in the opening match by registering an impressive result of 21-8 and 21-14.
This crucial tussle lasted for just 29 minutes as the Korean defence could not withstand an intensive attack and collapsed.
Meanwhile, the Chinese players showed superb coordination and wrapped this showdown in just two games.
They started the beating from very first stroke and kept the opposing team grounded all the way to final moments.
Jiaming Tao and Tang Jinhua were bit sluggish in the beginning but then a few back-to-back productive rallies provided them the required momentum.
After 3-3 total, they bagged four points in a row and pushed their rivals under huge pressure. This psychological edge helped them to control overall pace of the rallies.
Though, Yeon Seong and Ye Na strived hard to narrow the gap but they could not match their competitors speed and kept trailing behind on the points table.
The Korean duo dropped many valuable points due to lack of coordination and allowed their challengers to finish the first half of the set with a favourable score position.
Jiaming Tao and Tang Jinhua made the best out of their opponents’ blunders and strengthened their grip with few uninterrupted points in the third quarter of the set.
They carried this rhythm all the way to game point situation and won opening game with a significant margin of 21-8.
The second set remained interesting just until half time as it proved a one-sided affair in the latter part of the game.
Initially, both pairs snapped at each other’s heels and stayed close until 6-6 but then the Chinese campaigners geared themselves up and left their rivals far behind with an 11-7 total.
They maintained a decent lead until last shot was played and sealed their straight-set win with 21-14 score on the board.
This success took them into pre quarter-finals where they will lock horns with the Taipei team Lin Yen Jui-Cheng Chi Ya.
