2012 Macau Open: Takuto Inoue, Yuki Kaneko prove their worth in Men’s Doubles event
Men’s Doubles team Takuto Inoue-Yuki Kaneko of Japan delivered a stunner against Lu Ching Yao-Tseng Min Hao and earned a spot in the main round of Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold on November 27, 2012.
Though, this qualifying round match concluded in just two games but still the victorious duo had to sweat hard to read a favourable result of 21-19 and 21-18.
The Japanese campaigners forged a fruitful chemistry and cast out the Taipei team who had better odds for this encounter.
Takuto and Yuki established a strong grip over game immediately in the opening game as they launched a brisk attack and bagged three valuable points in a row.
They unleashed a series of power packed smashes and confined their rivals in the rear court. This authoritative approach helped them to keep the opposing team under control.
They prevailed in couple of uninterrupted rallies and put the Taipei shuttlers under huge pressure.
First half of the set ended with Takuto and Yuki having a slight edge in 11-10 total but they injected more intensity in their attack and widened the gap after one-minute interval.
The twosome of Lu Ching and Tseng Min geared up and caught their challengers by claiming a few vital points without any interruption. They levelled the score at 19-19 but then few unforced errors triggered the collapse.
Takuto and Yuki did not squander this opportunity and bagged ending two points in decisive figures of 21-19.
This timely win boosted their confidence and they played with even more precision in the following game.
The Japanese players established an unassailable lead in no time and maintained that upper hand until game point situation.
They mounted pressure with 6-2 and then doubled the impact by registering 11-7 score on the board.
Takuto and Yuki made best out of this initial advantage and transformed their 1-0 lead into a straight-set victory.
On the other hand, Lu Ching and Tseng Min put an honest effort to come out of their challengers’ influence but they could not hit the mark.
Takuto and Yuki maintained a significant difference and swept the table with a convincing margin of 21-18.
