2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training – Cactus League Update – Part 4
The 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training is currently moving at full pace as the regular season approaches. The Cactus League table is showing some interesting trends as the teams are all looking to dominate the remainder of Spring Training.
Having revamped most of the franchise during the offseason, the Chicago Cubs are struggling to make a serious impact in Spring Training. Having suffered from many unsuccessful seasons, the management decided during the offseason to make some serious changes
to the organisation. However, it seems that it will take a little bit longer until these changes make any type of impact for the team.
The Cubs will be hoping that they can find their groove right before the beginning of the regular season. Players like Starlin Castro, Geovany Soto, Matt Garza and Ryan Dempster will be hoping to make a positive impact for the team during Spring Training.
The Cubs understand that all of the changes that they made will take some time to show any results on the field. The overall mentality and work ethic of the team has definitely made a change for the better as the team will be hoping for some success this year.
The Cleveland Indians find themselves near the bottom of the table for the Cactus League as the team is working hard to find a decent balance in their line-up. The Indians are talented and have the capacity to dominate any of the top tier teams in the League.
Asdrubal Cabrera, Shin-Soo Choo, Ubaldo Jimenez and Justin Masterson will be hoping that they can turn things around for the team as they battle it out in the remaining games of Spring Training. The Indians will be looking to build some confidence before the
start of the regular season.
The Chicago White Sox are hoping for some success during the regular season this year. The team has struggled for form over the past few years and they are desperate to become more competitive. Their Spring Training so far has not been as expected as they
find themselves near the bottom of the Cactus League table.
The White Sox do have talent with players like Alexei Ramirez, Paul Konerko, Jake Peavy and John Danks. The team will be hoping that they can come together and work as a team to take on some of the top teams in the League. As the regular season approaches,
the White Sox will hope that their players stay healthy and confident.
The biggest surprise in the Cactus League is the fact that the mighty Texas Rangers find themselves at the bottom of the table as of March 18, 2012. The Rangers are the team that found themselves in the World Series final two years in a row. Unfortunately
they were unable to get the job done as they lost to the San Francisco Giants in 2010 and the St. Louis Cardinals in 2011.
It is very unlikely that the team is faltering in anyway, as it has been seen before that some of the top clubs use Spring Training as a way for their younger players to get some valuable experience against other top teams in the field. The Rangers are not
really struggling as it seems that they are trying to get their strategy and line-up worked out before the start of the regular season. The addition of Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish is something that the fans are hoping will help the Rangers this season. It
remains to be seen if the Rangers can dominate like they have for the past few years in the League.
