2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training: San Francisco Giants look focused
The San Francisco Giants are looking quite focused for the upcoming 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training session. The players are healthy and the team is looking to put in a tremendous effort during the work-out sessions to get ready for the 2012 MLB regular season.
The Giants will be happy with the return of their star catcher Buster Posey. He has not stepped foot on the field since his injury last May as he had a vicious home-plate collision with Scott Cousins. His broken ankle has healed and Posey is looking to get back into action with the Giants during Spring Training.
Tim Lincecum is also looking very good. He has shed some pounds during the offseason and is looking to regain some form as well. The Giants will be looking to Lincecum to guide them from the mound with his tremendous pitching skills. Brian Wilson is also feeling good, as he will be looking to put in a decent work-out to get his elbow up to par before the regular season. Barry Zito is also warming up for the Giants and will want to put in some work during Spring Training.
The team is coming together and most of the players are looking healthy and considerably fit. As all of the hype behind the offseason moves by clubs like the Los Angeles Angels and Detroit Tigers has dominated the headlines, the Giants seem to be only interested on what happens on the field. They are silently working-out and getting ready to make a massive impact during the 2012 MLB regular season.
After a disappointing season last year, the Giants will be hoping they can get things together on the field and start playing baseball like they did during the 2010 season. The Giants managed to win the World Series during that year and were quite unhappy that they were unable to defend their title in 2011. Many critics feel that the Giants suffered from too many injuries last year and just did not look like they were focused. The team struggled throughout last season and was not considered as much of a threat to many teams.
A renewed sense of drive and determination is fuelling the Giants this year. As their roster looks healthy, the team will want to start the 2012 regular season to a strong start. The Giants are going to try to build up some winning momentum and dominate their National League West Division. This is not going to be a walk in the park for the Giants, as teams like the Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Dodgers, Colorado Rockies and San Diego Padres will not be sitting idle. These teams are always looking to take on the Giants and battle it out in the Division.
As Spring Training is starting, the Giants are getting ready to put on a decent show. Players like Posey, who were out from most of the season last year, will get a good opportunity to get in some competitive work-out time before the arduous regular season begins. The fans are looking forward to a good season from the Giants this year as the team is focused and confident. The players are healthy and the level of determination is high. It will be exciting to see how well the Giants are able to perform during Spring Training and how they approach the 2012 MLB regular season. San Francisco wants the glory to return and the Giants are going to do whatever it takes to get their title back.
