2012 NFL season: Buffalo Bills aim to be through to playoffs, beyond – NFL News
The Buffalo Bills are on the cusp of snapping a 12-year playoff drought into the 2012 National Football League (NFL) season and some of the players see no reason behind their team not getting through to the second round.
Bills have introduced some major changes in the squad this year, which indicate the team is going to be a definite contender for the playoffs and beyond this year.
Wide receiver, David Nelson, who along with other key players is back into the squad, says the team should be able to make most of the 16-game season and go through the second phase successfully.
He said:
"That's what's exciting. Last year, we just kind of wanted everybody to know we were legit. Now that we've made that known, and people have to take account of who we are and what we're capable of, now we have to take that next step and
be that dynamic offense."
David believes Bills have taken right steps towards the target in the mandatory three-day minicamp and other offseason workout sessions, and the rest it should be doing in the full training camp next month.
The team is going to open the camp in Rochester on July 26, and the training programme will focus the objective of making it through to playoffs and beyond at the forefront of it.
Nelson said:
"Our team knows we can win. Our team knows we can play with the best teams in the league. It's just about going out and doing it."
A similar viewpoint had earlier been discussed by Nelson’s teammate, quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick, who said Bills can be among the top ten offences in the league.
Surprisingly, Ryan took the entire responsibility of helping the team through to his defined goal on his shoulders. He said the anticipated success of the team will depend on his performance.
Although the QB’s analysis looks to be rather realistic, taking the onus on himself is rather too much to digest for the teammates.
Nevertheless, the team hopes to progress through to the second leg of the season, as a first priority out of the 2012 season.
