2012 Opponent Preview: Atlanta Falcons face Arizona Cardinals in Week 11, Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12
Today, we will have a look at the games Atlanta Falcons will play in Week 11 and 12 of the 2012 regular season. We have previously previewed the first 10 weeks of the season.
Falcons will face Arizona Cardinals at home in Week 11. After that they will be on road to play against Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Week 11: Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals are a team that looks uncertain about who is the most reliable man for their starting quarterback position.
They are facing this uncertainty because both of their starting quarterbacks John Skelton and Kevin Kolb have given performances that are not best suited for a starter.
Although they have some talented players to throw the ball to, both of them have failed to fully utilise them.
They should give better output while playing alongside players like wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who is the most prominent and talented player in the whole offensive team. He is one the best wide receivers currently playing in the league.
Fitzgerald will team up with Michael Floyd at the wide receiving posts this season. This looks to be a lethal combination.
Defensively, Cardinals are looking very strong this time. Players like Calais Campbell and Darnell Dockett are the backbone of their defence, making it more disciplined.
Head-to-Head
Falcons and Cardinals have played 26 games against each other. Falcons have won 11 games and Cardinals have won 15 games.
Week 12: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made a few adjustments for this season after a diminishing performance in the 2011 season.
They have acquired services of Greg Schiano for the head coaching job. He is a well disciplined guy and likes to mould his team in that way.
Buccaneers needed a man like him, as they had a lack of discipline in the team of late.
Schiano has made quite a few improvements to the roster. They have also drafted some exciting talent through this year’s draft.
Buccaneers have added a quality receiver Vincent Jackson and guard Carl Nicks in the offensive team. Quarterback Josh Freeman will be very happy with these two acquisitions.
There is not much change in the defensive side. This means that the defence could again be vulnerable this season. The two teams will face each other again in the last week of the season.
Head-to-Head
Falcons and Buccaneers have faced each other on 37 occasions. Falcons have won 18 of those games while Buccaneers have won 19 games.
