2012 Opponent Preview: Dallas Cowboys face Cincinnati Bengals in Week 14, Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 15
After playing three home games, Dallas Cowboys will travel to play a game against Cincinnati Bengals in Week 14, while they will return home to host Pittsburgh Steelers for Week 15 game.
Week 14: Cincinnati Bengals
Although Cincinnati Bengals were able to qualify for the playoffs in the 2011 season, their prospects in the 2012 season are not that bright.
Bengals face a stiff challenge from Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers in the American Football Conference (AFC) North and if they want to qualify for the playoffs this time they have to be aggressive in all departments.
The Cowboys might carry an upper hand against the Bengals but since this game will take place in Week 14, a lot will depend on how these teams perform in the first half of the season.
Head-to-head
The Cowboys have faced the Bengals only 10 times. All the games took place in regular season. Cowboys have six victories to their credit and Bengals have won four games. Their last meeting took place in the 2008 season while they will only play one game
against each other in the 2012 season.
Week 15: Pittsburgh Steelers
This is going to be a pretty challenging game for the Cowboys. The Steelers were brilliant throughout the last regular season, but were still unable to accelerate in the postseason.
However, that does not overrule the fact that they have got a pretty strong side capable of winning the conference title as well.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is going to lead the Steelers’ offence yet again and since the team’s offence is managed by a new coach this time, the Steelers might surprise their opponents.
The Cowboys must rely on effective performance from their defence if they want to win this game. Although the offence will also have to play its part, the defence must make life difficult for the Steelers’ offence if the Cowboys want to win this game.
Head-to-head
Cowboys and Steelers have faced each other 30 times. Both teams have won 15 games each. The last meeting between the Cowboys and Steelers took place in the 2008 season while they are scheduled to play only one game against each other in the 2012 season.
