2012 Opponent Preview: Houston Texans face Green Bay Packers in Week 7, Baltimore Ravens in Week 8
We have reached Week 6 and 7 of the regular season in our opponent preview of Houston Texans’ games.
Both of the games to be played in these two weeks are home games for Texans after which they will have their bye week.
In Week 6, Texans will play Green Bay Packers and in Week 7 they will face Baltimore Ravens.
Week 6: Green Bay Packers
Packers had a nearly perfect season last year with 15-1, thanks to truly outstanding offensive performance.
One may consider the fact that they were marvellous even with the defence that was ranked 31st in the league last season.
The offence was nearly perfect last time and again looks to be solid this season. This is because they have one of the best quarterbacks this game has ever seen.
Aaron Rodgers has been phenomenal throughout his career. He was very accurate in his throws last season. His returning to 100% fitness is a major boost for Packers who will mainly depend on offensive performance again to succeed.
As for the defence, Packers have added a couple of quality players in Nick Perry, Jerel Worthy and Mike Daniels to add strength to the squad.
Head-to-Head
Texans and Packers have played just two games versus each other. Both the teams have won one game each.
Week 7: Baltimore Ravens
Ravens had one the best defences in the league last year, but the story is different this season.
Some of their defensive players are injured while the team has shifted its focus on the development of the offensive squad this year.
Ravens have also lost Jarret Johnson to San Diego Chargers. In order to reinforce the defensive team, Ravens have drafted Courtney Upshaw to fill the vacuum at the outside linebacker.
In the offence, Ravens have Ray Rice back in the team. This also means a great support to quarterback Joe Flacco. It will not be the same type of season for Ravens, but one cannot underestimate their chances to win the title.
Head-to-Head
Texans and Ravens have played five games against each other. All of those games have been won by Ravens.
