2012 Opponent Preview: Houston Texans face Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2, Denver Broncos in Week 3
In this edition, we will look at the games that will be played by Houston Texans in Week 2 and 3 of the regular season.
Texans will be on road in these two weeks as they face Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2 and Denver Broncos in Week 3.
Week 2: Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars look a completely different side this season as they have changed their administrative hierarchy and have also made some changes in the coaching staff.
They have a new Head Coach Mike Mularkey, a man with the reputation of changing the fortune of lacklustre teams.
The overall roster does not have the depth to win many games on a consistent level. The offence will be led by quarterback Blaine Gabbert who is coming from a terrible rookie season.
Apart from adding Aaron Ross from the defending champions New York Giants, Jaguars have not added many players to their squad this offseason.
Their defence is still in the rebuilding stage and might not show much excellence. The two teams will face each other twice this season.
Head-to-Head:
Texans and Jaguars have played a total of 20 games against each other. Texans have managed to win 11 games and Jaguars have won nine games.
Week 3: Denver Broncos
The quarterback position will be the focal point of discussion when it comes to previewing a Denver Broncos game.
Broncos have completely revitalised their team with the addition of elite quarterback Peyton Manning.
Manning has show good recovery in training camp. Broncos have also discharged quarterback Tim Tebow who started many games last season to accommodate Peyton. Broncos’ offence will look to be more traditional rather than optional this season
under Manning.
The defence will have to show better output and players like Von Miller must step up to serve the goal.
Overall, Broncos are looking strong on the offence and Texans will have to be disciplined on the defence to win this game.
Head-to-Head:
Texans and Broncos have faced each other on just three occasions. Texans have won only once while Broncos have won twice.
