2012 Opponent Preview: Houston Texans face Tennessee Titans in Week 4 and New York Jets in Week 5
Here comes another opponent preview of Houston Texans and this time we will preview games that Texans will play in Week 4 and 5 of the regular season.
In Week 4 Texans will play Tennessee Titans and in Week 5 they will face New York Jets.
Week 4: Tennessee Titans
Although Tennessee Titans did surprise many when they finished last season 9-7, it will be difficult for them to give a performance like they did last year again.
Titans have not added many players from the free agency this year and have not drafted any sensational talent. The roster is getting older and the team really needs young guns to give better performances on a consistent level.
The one thing that will be interesting to see is that how Titans’ quarterback situation develops this year. They desperately tried to acquire Peyton Manning when he became a free agent but failed to entice the elite quarterback. Titans
have also drafted Kendall Wright to strengthen the wide receiving corps.
If they manage to display good performance this year, it might be the beginning of a new era in their history; otherwise they will have to restructure the roster with young players. These two teams will play two games versus each other.
Head-to-Head
Texans and Titans have played 20 games against each other. Texans have won six games while Titans have won 14 games.
Week 5: New York Jets
New York Jets have many issues to address going into the season.
Many of their players were involved in off-field issues this offseason that brought negative publicity to the franchise.
Other than that, the offence has many cracks which could show up, especially during the latter part of the season.
Mark Sanchez will still be the starting quarterback as backup Tim Tebow will play in the red zone as well as in the special team.
Jets’ running game looks to be one of the worst in the league with Shonn Greene continuously giving mediocre performances.
Head-to-Head
Texans and Jets have faced each other on five occasions. Jets have won all five of those games.
