2012 Opponent Preview: Indianapolis Colts face Houston Texas and Kansas City Chiefs
This is the last edition of our opponent preview series of Indianapolis Colts. In this episode, we will preview games that will be played in Week 15 and Week 16 of the regular season.
Colts will face Houston Texans in Week 15 and again in Week 17. In Week 16 they will take on Kansas City Chiefs.
Week 12: Houston Texans
Houston Texans managed to get 10-6 last season even with all the injuries. This year, they are looking forward to having an even better season.
Texans have lost quite a large amount of quality players from the roster this offseason. They include Mario Williams, DeMeco Ryans, Joel Dreessen, Lawrence Vickers and Eric Winston. Moreover, they have not made any major upgrades during
the offseason to deal with the loss of such players.
Texans are in American Football Conference (AFC) South, which is looking overhauled this season with all the teams looking way better than last season. So it will be difficult for Texans to grind out 10-6 like they did last season.
Head-to-Head
Colts and Texans have played 20 games against each other. Colts have won 17 games and Texans have won just three.
Week 12: Kansas City Chiefs
This season, Kansas City Chiefs will be looking for a division win after a sloppy 7-9 finish to the season last time.
They will be hoping for a better performance from their quarterback Matt Cassel, who managed to get only 10 touchdowns last season. Cassel has the support around him to produce better results.
On the defensive front, Chiefs have added Dontari Poe to strengthen the interior. The offence will be led by Tamba Hali.
Chiefs’ defence will have to deal with the sensation that is Andrew Luck, who is the first overall draft pick of this year, replacing Peyton Manning in Indianapolis.
Head-to-Head
Colts and Chiefs have faced each other on 21 occasions. Colts have managed to win 13 games while Chiefs have won eight games. The two teams have played three games against each other in playoffs.
