2012 Opponent Preview: Seattle Seahawks face Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys
We welcome you to a new series of opponent preview. In this series, we will preview opponents of Seattle Seahawks.
Seahawks had a regretful 2011 season as they finished it 7-9. They have formed a strong and talented roster filled with young blood for the upcoming season.
In the offensive team, their main player is Marshawn Lynch. He has given staggering performances for the Seahawks for the last two seasons.
The running back has given Seahawks a strong running game. With his strong style of play, he has been able to cover more yards even though the quarterback play of Seahawks was very poor.
Seahawks have Matt Flynn, Russell Wilson and Tarvaris Jackson fighting for a starting place in the quarterback position.
Flynn has arrived in Seahawks after spending four years in the Green Bay Packers camp.
Jackson has the experience to play in the tough encounters.
On the other hand, Flynn started just one game last season, but in that game his performance was superb.
Seahawks’ defence has improved now and with the presence of players like of Bruce Irvin, their chances are bright.
Week 1: Arizona Cardinals
Like Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals have been dealing with similar quarterback situation. Their quarterback play has been below par and both, Kevin Kolb and John Skelton, have been far from impressive.
Larry Fitzgerald has been the most impressive player in the offence. Also, their running back play has been very good.
With the addition of new players, defence has become very strong and dynamic. Their game against Seahawks will be neck-and-neck. Cardinals do have a better chance of winning this game. The two sides will also play against each other in
the last week of the season.
Head-to-head
Seahawks and Cardinals have played 26 games against each other. Seahawks have won 12 while Cardinals have won 14.
Week 2: Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys are coming in this season with hopes of finally winning the Lombardi Trophy under the leadership of quarterback Tony Romo.
Romo has a very talented offensive team to support him this season. They have good players for every offensive position.
Running game could be the down side of Cowboys offence. Their defence is not that bad either.
Head-to-head
Seahawks and Cowboys have played 14 games versus each other. Seahawks have won five games and Cowboys have won nine games.
