2012 Opponent Preview: Seattle Seahawks face Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Rams
In this second episode of the Seattle Seahawks opponent preview, we will preview games of Week 3 and 4 of the regular season.
We have previously previewed games that will be played in the first and second week of the season.
The game against Green Bay Packers will be one of the toughest for Seahawks this season. The next game against St. Louis Rams is one of the games that Seahawks should win.
Week 3: Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers have been the most consistent performers in the league for the last few seasons. Last season, they finished 15-1 which was the best record in the entire league.
They were continuously getting big scores throughout the season, thanks to their quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers has been phenomenal throughout his time at Packers. His game has been boosted by the players around him.
They show good response to the quarterback during the passing game.
Packers’ defence will face tough competition from Seahawks’ Marshawn Lynch who might cause some serious trouble for the Packers.
The last time these two teams played against each other was in the 2009 season. Packers thrashed Seahawks in that game 48-10.
Head-to-Head
A total of 15 games have been played so far between Seahawks and Packers. Seahawks have won five of them while Packers have won 10.
Week 4: St. Louis Rams
St. Louis Rams have been busy strengthening their roster this offseason. They have drafted some quality players from this year’s draft.
These additions were necessary as Rams finished their last season’s campaign miserably; winning only two games while losing 14. Lack of any elite player is one of the backdrops of this team.
There is an element of uncertainty in this team as they have lots of young players who are yet to show how good they are when it comes to performing in the professional game.
Defence has improved quite a bit when compared with the last season’s team.
It is Rams’ underrated defence that could produce good results for them this season.
Rams faced Seahawks during the last season and the latter comfortably won that game 30-13.
Head-to-Head
Seahawks and Rams have faced each other 28 times. Seahawks have won 17 games while Rams have won 11. Both sides have played just once against each other in playoffs.
