Rams will face New England Patriots in Week 8 and San Francisco 49ers in Week 10. These games are very crucial for Rams’ overall progress. Week 9 will be their bye.
Rams will host Patriots while they will be on the road against 49ers.
Week 8: New England Patriots
After losing the Super Bowl against New York Giants earlier in February, New England patriots are desperate to win the title this season.
Quarterback Tom Brady will again be the driving force in the offence. His consistent production has been the driving force behind Patriots’ regular qualification for the playoffs.
Tight ends Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski will return to the team to further strengthen the offence. Gronkowski missed the Super Bowl game due to an injury and was badly missed during the game. The pair will be a threatening combination.
Patriots’ defence will be under great pressure as Chandler Jones will play his rookie season. His inexperience might cost Patriots dearly during crucial games.
The last encounter between Rams and Patriots took place in the 2008 season. Patriots won that game 23-16. The two sides have faced each other only once in the playoffs.
Head-to-Head
Rams and Patriots have played 11 games against each other. Patriots have won six games while Rams have won five.
Week 10: San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers were outstanding throughout the 2011 season. Last season, they finished 13-3 and qualified for the playoffs.
It was their first appearance in the playoffs after eight seasons, thanks to impressive defensive performance.
Under head coach Jim Harbaugh and quarterback Alex Smith, the offence must also progress now. In order to give better support to Smith, 49ers have added two wide receivers into the team.
The two teams will play two games against each other this season.
Head-to-Head
Rams and 49ers have played as many as 125 games against each other. Rams have won 61 games and 49ers have won 62 games. Two games have ended in a tie.
