2012 Opponent Preview: Tampa Bay Buccaneers face Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins
Opponent preview moves into week 3 and 4 of Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ regular season. We have previously previewed games that will be played in the first two weeks of the season.
In week 3 they will be on the road facing Dallas Cowboys. After that they will take on Washington Redskins.
Week 3: Dallas Cowboys
Dallas had a disappointing 2011 season as they finished 8-8 despite looking good.
Cowboys have never been able to win the title with quarterback Tony Romo. As this season starts, Romo knows that he does not have many years left to win the title with Cowboys.
Romo has the team that can lead the Cowboys into the Super Bowl. The offence has always been the dominant factor for Cowboys. Yet this season, things are looking to change as the defence starts to take shape. Cowboys have added players
like Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne into the secondary so that there are not many loopholes.
Last time these two teams met each other was in December 2011. Cowboys easily overcame Buccaneers and won by 31-15. Cowboys should be able to defeat Buccaneers this time as well.
Week 4: Washington Redskins
With the addition of quarterback Robert Griffin III (RG3), Redskins are looking upbeat about the upcoming season. We are yet to see RG3 performing in the regular season, but his performance in the preseason has been good.
He is coming from college with a good reputation and has impressed his teammates and coaches during the entire offseason.
Yet one cannot underestimate the fact that this is still his rookie year and he could fail.
Redskins should be appreciated for their offseason work. By trading their pick with St. Louis Rams, they have acquired a truly phenomenal talent.
Apart from RG3, Redskins do not have much depth in the offence. Running back position has been an issue for them as they don’t have the pace to overcome a quality defence.
Their defensive team looks much balanced and capable especially with strength at linebacker.
