2012 Opponent Preview Week 10 & 11: New York Jets face Seattle Seahawks and St. Louis Rams
We have now reached the middle of the season in the opponent preview series that is previewing opponents that New York Jets will face in the regular season.
We have previously previewed games that will be played in the first seven weeks of the regular season. Week 8 will be their bye. In Week 9 Jets will face Miami Dolphins, a team we have previewed before.
This time we will preview games to be played in Week 10 and 11 of the season. Jets will be on road to play both of these games. In Week 11 Jets are going to play Seattle Seahawks and in Week 11 they will be against St. Louis Rams.
Week 10: Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks are yet another team facing quarterback battle. Yet things are a bit different in their case as they have three quarterbacks who have relatively similar range of skills.
Last year’s starting quarterback Tarvaris Jackson will not have his starting place in his bag easily this time as Seahawks have drafted Russell Wilson who seems to have the talent to replace Jackson.
Yet his inexperience hinders his path to the starting position. Seahawks have also added an experienced free agent Matt Flynn into the team who certainly looks good contender for the starting place.
As per the recent developments, there are rumours that Jackson might get traded and with Flynn receiving more playing time in the preseason, it is expected that he might win the starting job.
The running game is mostly dependent on the output of Marshawn Lynch. He has given splendid performance in recent years and hopes to do the same this year as well.
Week 12: St. Louis Rams
St. Louis Rams will again play this season without having the services of elite players.
Although they had the opportunity of drafting one of the most revered upcoming talents Robert Griffin III (RG3) as they had the second overall pick, they preferred strengthening their roster by adding more players as they traded down their
pick.
Quarterback Sam Bradford looks to have a tough time this season as he has been struggling with his fitness lately, but he has shown that his ankle injury is not bothering him now.
New Head Coach Jeff Fisher will have intense pressure to improve the defensive game which was one of the worst in the league last season.
