2012 Opponent Preview Week 12: Washington Redskins face Dallas Cowboys
We have previously previewed the first 11 weeks of the Redskins’ campaign. Their game against Cowboys will be vital for Redskins as they move towards the last quarter of the season.
Week 12: Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys have certainly made their roster strong this offseason. All of their moves have been very positive. Jerry Jones has added players in the right positions.
Cowboy’s elite quarterback Tony Romo will likely to be in his top form as usual. He was able to get the fourth best quarterback rating for the 2011 season.
Although he had to deal with a rib injury as well as coping up with a struggling offensive team, he was able to give superb output.
Romo has some good support in the running back position. He has got the combination of DeMarco Murray and Felix Jones who can certainly help him.
We will see a major change in the offensive line with Tyron Smith playing on the left side while offensive tackle Doug Free will be on the right. It will be interesting to see how this change will affect the outcome of offensive line,
as Smith was very comfortable and productive at the right side.
Cowboys’ defence has few issues to solve. They have made quite a few additions to curtail the situation and they are reportedly coming up with a new defensive strategy that could surprise many teams.
Cowboys used the rotation policy in the defensive line last season as they played four players in two positions throughout the season.
They are very strong at the linebacker position, with DeMarcus Ware leading the defensive line.
Last time Redskins and Cowboys faced each other was in November 2011. It was a thrilling contest with Cowboys winning 27-24.
The two sides will play two games against each other in the 2012 season. The other game will take place in the last week of the season.
Head-to-head
A total of 104 encounters have taken place between Redskins and Eagles. Redskins have won 40 of those games while Eagles have won 62 games. Two games ended in a tie.
