2012 Opponent Preview Week 13 & 14: New York Jets face Arizona Cardinals and Jacksonville Jaguars
We have now reached Week 13 and 14 of the regular season in our opponent preview series of New York Jets.
We have previously previewed games that will be played in the first 12 weeks of the regular season.
Jets will face New England Patriots in Week 12, a team which we have previewed before. In Week 13 they will play against Arizona Cardinals and in Week 14 they will face Jacksonville Jaguars.
Week 13: Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals will again look to suffer from an underrated offensive team. Last season, they finished 8-8. They failed to capitalize on good receiving game to a bad quarterback play.
Making Kevin Kolb the starting quarterback does not necessarily mean that they have resolved all the issues at the quarterback position. Both Kolb and John Skelton have average game and besides it is still not guaranteed that Kolb will
get the starting role.
Cardinals do have arguably the best of wide receivers in the league with the likes of Larry Fitzgerald and Early Doucet. They have also added a strong wide receiver Michael Floyd in this year’s draft.
The defence looks to be phenomenal for Cardinals this season as Darnell Dockett and Calais Campbell look to lead the team. Dan Williams is also coming back from an injury, further strengthening the roster.
Week 14: Jacksonville Jaguars
After finishing 5-11 last season, Jacksonville Jaguars have made a lot of changes this season. They have completely reshuffled their coaching staff as they have acquired services of Mike Mularkey as the new head coach.
Jaguars do not seem to have the roster depth to curtail with the emergency situation. Their quarterback Blaine Gabbert will start his second season in the league after coming from a bad rookie season in which he failed to give good performance.
Jaguars’ running game looks superb with the likes of Maurice Jones-Drew in the team who had the highest number of rushing plays in the league last season. On the other hand, his contract situation will decide whether he will play the entire
season or not.
The defensive line looks fantastic. Secondary is also in good shape with the addition of Aaron Ross.
